A Lathe with a View

As part of our big push to equip our 6th floor artist studios, we were able to purchase some pretty impressive tools, including two pottery wheels, two kilns, various saws, grinders, hammers, drills, etc. In general, I’d say that we’re a pretty handy group here in the education office, so we were able to get practically all of these unpacked and in use (and by we, I mean my coworker Aliza). However, there are a couple of tools that no one here was eager to setup (I need all of my fingers to type). First on the list: our lathe.
Luckily, we have a lot of friends. Artist Harvey Fein, a woodworker in our collection, came by the other day to uncrate, assemble, and prepare our lathe. It sounds like he might also be coming back to use it soon – naturally, you’ll be the first to know.
