Last MAD BAG: “Minstrel Bouquet”

Although the photographs I took dont really tell the whole story, I will include them anyway. Whereas I remembered, finally, to bring my camera, I forgot the silly tripod. I tried to summon my surgeons nerves to steady the camera without the flash, but the only thing I really gained from that was the knowledge that I would have made a terrible surgeon…. Blurrr. So without the benefit of tripod I used the flash which really only produced hotspots when too close and contour shadows on the wall around the bag. So enough of the qualifications and justifications for my bad records of the last day’s bag.
Like I said, I had the idea (normally a dangerous notion in my creative process) of making a “bouquet-like” addition to the bag. This addition came in the form of old wooded gold clubs that I used as substitutes for the symbolic flowers. I collaged the clubs, about 18 of them, and inserted them, one by one, into the top of the bag. I think I executed the idea well and it didnt end up looking corny or silly (maybe you think otherwise).
I had a lot of comments and reactions to the bag from visitors to the museum. But I didnt get anyone to help! One person said the bag looked pregnant which I liked a lot since the human element of the shape is important to me. Another person thought the recycling of images was very interesting. Anyway, I dont think I have too much more to add to the last day except to say that the entire experience was well worth the opportunity.
Here are the pics:
I cleaned up at the end of the day, packed all my stuff headed home, exhausted from what felt like a very intense day that marked the end of the open studio for. With fond memories of the experience I say to all involved at MAD, Be well and best regards.
