“Are you making ravioli?”

Last week I got this question 5 times! HA! It’s brilliant how one week I’ll get the same question 5 times and the next week no one will ask. I love these little nuances of working in the open studio. For example: I have 4 finished brooches that I keep out so people can see what they look like when they’re glazed and the enamels are on, I’ve had them out for weeks and one week at least 6 people picked up the same brooch and asked if it was tin. And it’s funny that where I sit in the room determines if people come in or not. So I try to move the table close to the door and sit so you can see me right when you get off the elevator.

One week I got quite a few “where can I take pottery classes?” This is a good question so I thought I would share a few places I know; Greenwich House, the Educational Alliance and Brickhouse Ceramic Art Center. Also, keep your eyes peeled on the MAD calendar of events they have all kinds of fantastic workshops.

Any who, here are a few pics of my “raviolis” in progress.
