There is an article about MAD in the October 2009 issue of The Juilliard Journal.  In the article, author, art historian and Juilliard faculty member, Greta Berman, writes: “Crafts” used to be the catchall name for “Arts’s” less important, “lower,” more utilitarian stepsister.  But now, instead of accepting second class citizenship, the museum’s goal is to transcend boundaries formerly imposed on “crafts.”

Berman gives a brief history of the museum and provides information about the fall exhibitions.  Even the Open Studios Program gets a mention.
