Studio Sunday — Light a feather, stiff as a board…

January 28th, 2010 at 04:38pm Cathy

On a Sunday in mid-January, over 25 enthusiastic visitors joined me for Studio Sunday. The classroom was overflowing with happy faces from young to old. The theme was using “light” paper, such as tissue papers, wax paper or doilies. We talked about textures, properties and challenges of using these often fragile types of paper. The participants were all inspired by looking at the SLASH exhibition and worked hard on their pieces. Here are some photos, and I’m sorry I couldn’t post ALL of them (they were all fabulous). There were collages, jewelry, sculptural objects and more! Thanks to all the participants for their enthusiasm.
