Last week of our dear Arts Life-FINAL BLOG

This is a sad week for us at the Arts Life Program at the MAD museum. It is ending & I feel we could do so much more if only we had more time. Its depressing to think that after all the time we spent with each other it is finally ending. I will miss the people I met in & outside the museum. It was a fun time meeting all these new people and relating with one another. Sorry I get a bit emotional thinking about it.
Last Friday we went to the Brooklyn Museum and saw an Andy Warhol exhibition, these creepy historic houses you can go into halfway, & a painting in the lobby based on Napoleon by Kehinde Wiley. It was great but what happened next was my favorite part of last weeks trip. We went to Surroundart in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. They talked about how they made the crates and boxes precisely for each piece, how they paint the crates, store the art, and how most of the workers have a background in art & they can experience touching the art hands on.
Today we have to make a biography for our Arts Life exhibition, make labels for it as well, & our final blog (which this is). I feel that all the time in the museum will amount to something whether learning how artists live their lives creating art, how the packing is done, how exhibitions travel around, or how to speak up & make new friends. I wish we can come back next year summer to relive it all. Thank you to all who gave us the time to be here & gave us their time to explain things to us. THANK YOU!!!
