The End.

The end of this internship has unfortunately arrived and now it is farewell time. I was able to learn a lot from this internship. In the beginning we  met all the staff of this museum who shared their experience of working here and gave us advice for life. Before I use to be a lot more concerned and nervous about my career. I use to think that in life to be successful one should know exactly what one want to do and should be focused only in that particular field to master it. However after hearing from all these  people in my internship  my point of view has completely changed. Now I think in life it is better to be open to all kind of opportunities and experiences.  You never know if you might come across something much better however if you stay at the same place your entire life you will never know about the other possibilities. It is always better to know more then to know less.

I think trips were one of the best part of the internship and I am really going to miss that. We went to many interesting places which I had never been before and the last week we went to Brooklyn Museum and looked at Andy Warhol’s art.  I learned certain things about him which I had not known before, first of all he made movies too and he was religious.  As he was pop artist, his art pieces were really different and the fact that he collaborated with many other artist brought even more variation and flavor in his works.

We went to Surroundart where they design crates for very precious and delicate art pieces. It was nice to see the variation in crates depending on the size and texture.  We also visited a conservation lab where they repair such ancient works of art. It was amazing to see some of the art up close without any glass.

I am really glad that I came to this internship because it made my summer much more productive and educational.  I learned many things not only about art but also about the different ways of contributing to art. Making Jewelry and goblets was probably my favorite thing to do and I am really excited for our exhibition. I am going to miss all the Artslife interns and our supervisor Bobby. She is a great supervisor and has a very good personality which makes it easier to collaborate with her and has made this internship much more Joyful.
