The End

This summer I had an amazing adventure, an adventure of art, and city life, and fascinating people. I learned about working and communicating with people, but most importantly the way I am in a working space. I feel so lucky to have been given this experience.
Last week on Friday we went to the Brooklyn Museum of Art and we saw the Andy Warhol exhibition which was surprisingly informative because I knew a good amount Warhol but I learned all of these interesting things about him like that he was a serious Catholic, and that he didn’t just make fine art but films as well. After the Brooklyn Museum we went on an adventure to Flushing Avenue on the outskirts where not even I, true blooded Brooklynite, have never been. The walk was sweltering, but it had a good pay off. We ended up at the place where they store art, and check art to make it’s okay. The company is called Surround Art. It was interesting, but my favorite part was the location which was right next to the East River, there were all these broken down buildings with plantlife growing in them. It was old and creepy but kinda beautiful too.
Now this week has us coming to a close and I couldn’t have had such an amazing time if it weren’t for so many people. I would like to thank Cathleen and Bobby for their patience, open mindedness and enthusiasm that I found to be so easily contagious. In the beginning couple of weeks so many people from the different departments came to talk to us about the museum and how their work corresponds with the museum. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me and the other ArtsLife Interns. Thank you Zoe; for the brief amount of time you were here, you made my experience humorous, outrageous, and very thought provoking.
To all of the ArtsLife Interns, Jose, Ashmita, Christian, Carla, Mark, Brandon, and Ucenis, thank you for sharing the learning experiance with me and making the last few weeks so much darn fun.
The ArtsLife Internship has greatly influenced my love of the fine arts and has made me learn about the world of museums. I love it, I love the collaboration, the individuality, the exploration, the discovery, and the constant learning. I’ve caught the museum bug. So even though this adventure is ending, there are so many more. I’m ready, bring it on.
