Companion Ancester Arrives

My original idea for a sculpture to be made at the MAD museum was to create Janus heads with an ancestor figure base. Since I am accustomed to working almost everyday in the studio and I had a suitable log, I decided, in August, to begin the ancestor base in wood. The paper Janus heads and another base made out of paper clay were created in Open Studios. This plan became a challenge since I never saw both pieces together until recently. Now that our time at the museum is nearing a close, I realize that the carved base and the Janus heads are complete in themselves.
What happens to the paper ancestor piece? I never abandon a piece and will continue working on it in my studio until it is complete. The excitement of not knowing the outcome is part of the process.
