Decisions

Finishing a piece and making final decisions on its presentation is always the hardest part of art-making. I keep an open mind throughout the process. The piece at the museum is now at that stage. Since the piece was created as a Janus figure on a base, the challenge is how to assemble it. There are many options, including the one in the photo. The paper base still needs to be finished and each minor change can change the overall design of the piece. Stay tuned while I think about it.

So true Carolyn! I find that people (especially those without a lot of art-making experience themselves) often overlook the particulars of the decision making process. Choice the big variable that observers most frequently overlook.

The complexity of working in three dimensions makes a successful ending most satisfying.
